Shuman Ghosemajumder
Business and Information Technology

Mr. Ghosemajumder has been invited to teach at The Lyceum during this year's summer program, after which he will return to IBM in New York City, where he is a senior strategy consultant in their Media & Entertainment group. He was previously the co-founder of Anadas, a software development and new media firm in Toronto, where he served as President and Chief Executive Officer. He has also held positions with McKinsey & Company and Groupware Corporation.

He has guest lectured at a number of universities, and is an internationally published author in the field of software development (CGI Programming Unleashed, Macmillan, 1997). He also taught at MIT for two years as the Head Teaching Fellow for the core graduate course in the Sloan School's top-ranked information technology program. In this capacity, he taught and had responsibility for over 300 graduate students from MIT and Harvard. He was also a Graduate Teaching Fellow in the core eBusiness course and a Research Assistant, and consulted to firms in New York, Berlin and Tokyo.

He honed his presentation skills as one of the world's most successful college debaters. He won international awards from numerous institutions, including Yale, Princeton and McGill, and was elected the youngest President of the Canadian national debating society. He was also the 1996 North American Public Speaking Champion and the top public speaker at the Harvard International Debating Championship.
