"Shannon had a wonderful time and she learned a lot. We will certainly recommend your school to other parents. We have friends who sent their children to other summer programs, and it seems The Lyceum was superior!" Flay Goodall "As you know, our oldest daughter Kaitlin first enjoyed The Lyceum a few years back and still holds it as one of the best experiences of her life. Carly’s feedback to us this week has been nothing short of ecstatic." David Lanthier "Your program has been a tremendous success. Excellent comments are flowing in from my daughter and all The Lyceum students. Thank you for your great work." Yan He “All three of my children have taken advantage of the summer school program in Crete to earn a valuable high school credit and immerse themselves in the local culture. They have returned invigorated, exceptionally well fed and fit, and brimming with the happy memories created by teachers who went out of their way to find interesting, challenging and amusing things to do to fill every waking hour. For the price of summer camp, this program cannot be beaten. I tell everyone I know about it and anyone who wants to call me about it can do so at 416-232-2243. I am hoping my son will return again next year to repeat the experience of a solid curriculum combined with a small class ratio with other motivated teenagers. Fabulous.” Fiona Campbell "You are helping to make my daughter more independent. I am so grateful and want to thank everyone at The Canadian Lyceum of Greece." Linda Chen “The Lyceum gave my daughter her first taste of what University will be like, she learned valuable lessons about herself and how she relates to others. Most important of all she learned that happiness is not linked to wealth and luxury, that peace and joy come from within and hardship is a perception. “Having met and corresponded with John I felt safe giving my daughter to his and his team’s care. After talking to Steve I knew we couldn’t have chosen a better program, and the daily updates from Sue, her warmth and sincerity kept me sane however much I missed my daughter. THANK YOU!” Howaida (Heddy) Sorour & Steve Sanger “The Canadian Lyceum of Greece is so much more than a way for your child to earn an additional credit. Growth occurs through the books one reads, through the people one meets and through life experiences. The Canadian Lyceum provides an amazing opportunity for growth. “I can not say enough good things about the staff and this program. Communication was excellent as we were kept informed of all activities and events and had the means to contact our child or the staff by phone at any time. The pictures posted regularly to the web-site's gallery kept us in touch while our son was having the experience of a lifetime. “Our son has matured in ways that he will carry with him forever. He has developed an increased independence and confidence in himself and his abilities. He has learned what it is like to live and work with a group of individuals. He has returned home not only with an awareness of another culture (past and present) but with a genuine respect that comes with truly connecting with people whose way of life may be different from his, but no less valued. He has learned all of this under the care and guidance of the Lyceum staff, each of whom are superb teachers who instill the excitement and love of learning in their students. “If you have the means, do not hesitate to give your child this gift of discovery and growth. It is an experience that will reap rewards in ways you can't imagine.” Lorna Good “The Lyceum provided a most nurturing and enriching environments for my daughter while she studied in Crete. The teaching, supervision, field trips and attention to parental needs were truly outstanding. Constant E-mail updates from the charming local staff and access to our daughter through a cell phone provided by The Lyceum, were unique and comforting touches. Comparing this school to other summer schools, which I have experienced through another daughter, The Lyceum is definitely the winner, hands down. The photos that were e-mailed throughout the month attested to this and allowed us to view the many beautiful sites and see the excitement and pleasure on the faces of the students, as they hiked, rowed, sailed, acted, played their musical instruments and attended classes. The teachers and directors, particularly Mr. Krisak and Mr. Katsipodas are exceptional. My daughter said she could hardly say goodbye to them through her tears.” Colette Paquin-Danyliuk “The session was excellent, again peace of mind is essential when sending one’s child overseas and in the care of others whom we do not know. The demonstrated organization and professionalism are a must and this was portrayed very well at the session. It was beneficial to meet the teachers as their personality and experience earned our trust. “She thought Crete was spectacular and loved the experience of being there for one month. Home doesn’t quite measure up, no Aegean Sea out of her bedroom window at home. I hope it has opened her eyes to having to work hard to get a good mark. She felt that the cramming of one course into one month was difficult from a time perspective. I’m glad she associated with other students that seemed to have a good work ethic or may have valued education more than her colleagues at her regular school. “Sabrina enjoyed the sailing very much. “Sabrina was very fortunate to have had this opportunity of a lifetime.” Philip Szabo “Permitting our daughter to participate in The Lyceum was perhaps the smartest thing we’ve ever done. Arianna had the most positive and life-changing experience ever. She developed a maturity and a greater sense of responsibility while learning to live without her family. She thoroughly enjoyed her class and her teacher, and reveled in all the co-curricular activities presented at the school. Every minute was filled with activities and events. Ari experienced first-hand living in another culture and developed an appreciation for how other people live and do things. She positively loved the Greek food!! This has triggered a desire in her to participate in further educational opportunities abroad. “As parents, we were never left wondering what was happening at the school. Regular email updates from the staff and pictures posted on The Lyceum website kept us abreast of what was going on. Ari emailed regularly herself though the emails were always short. Too many things she wanted to do instead. We strongly encourage other parents to consider The Lyceum for their children. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience that your children will never forget. “I’m just sorry that I didn’t know about this school sooner, so that my other two children could have participated in it.” Terry and Chris Webb
